Many people may want to power their homes and businesses with solar energy, but they don’t really consider doing so because they don’t think they’ll ever be able to afford it. However, you may be surprised to learn that there are several solar power system financing options that you may not have realized were available. Whether you own a home, a business or both, Global Efficient Energy can help make it affordable for you to no longer have to rely on the power grid.
Choose Your Option
We offer two main types of solar power system financing – our solar lease program and our power purchase option. Here’s a look at both.
- The Solar Lease Program – This lease runs for 18 years; the leasing company owns the system, but you receive rebates and other credits. Should you have to break this lease for any reason, you’ll be responsible for paying the remainder of the contract. For instance, you’ll have to pay out the contract if you sell your home and the new owner does not want to continue the lease.
- The Power Purchase Program – In this form of solar power system financing, the leasing company both owns the system and receives benefits such as rebates and tax credits. The lease does not include any upfront costs and typically lasts from 15-18 years. You will pay the leasing company for the power that your system generates, and you’ll pay your local utility provider for the power they supply to you. Because the leasing company’s power is usually less than that of the utility, your monthly bills should be lower. This option is usually better for businesses, but a Global Efficient Energy representative can explain whether the solar lease or power purchase program will be better for you.
